Sunday Pizza: 06.19.2011

We haven't had a Sunday pizza in a couple weeks.  Lately, we've been working on the yard, including taking out our crappy aggregate concrete patio pad and replacing it with flagstone and new steps.  C is shoveling as I type!  The last few weeks have been filled with prep work going to various stores to price things out and pouring through the internet for ideas and how-to tips etc.  Frankly, we've been eating whatever is close by.
 

Last Thursday, C's bro, Ed, and his wife, Katherine, came in for a visit!  This meant we stop everything and soak in all the fun we could with them!  Six years ago we moved here and at the same time they moved from Madison, WI to Athens, GA.  Sniff sniff...  We spent many a weekend and New Year hanging with them and were so sad to move to different coasts.  Naturally, we wish that we visited them more back then since now we're lucky if we see them once a year.

Special visitors mean bring on the pizza!  Z has the biggest crush on Katherine.  He was all googly eyed for her the whole weekend.  Too cute!  Plus, if he got in trouble, say for feeding our dog Abbey at the dinner table, he would put his head down and pout then give me this "Mom, don't embarrass me in front of Katherine" look.

As you can imagine, he was all to pleased to show off his pizza making skills to her.  She helped him along the way but at some point he was too into flirting and C had to quickly flatten the dough for him.  Then he was too into eating the cheese and C had to finish topping the pizza for him.  Oh well, it was still fun.

I'll post one of our fun outings with Ed and Katherine soon.  We were sad to say goodbye to them on Tuesday (Monday night for me).  Luckily, we'll see them real soon in Chicago for C's brother Ted's wedding. Already I miss them.
